I am available to lead creative writing workshops in person (if you’re located in western Virginia) or virtually. I’m also available for manuscript reviews. Whether I’m running a group workshop or giving feedback on an individual manuscript, my goal is the same: to help writers advance their own artistic vision.

I have more than ten years of experience teaching creative writing workshops and reading fiction manuscripts. College-level courses I’ve taught include: Studies in World Literature, Introduction to Creative Writing (multi-genre), Introduction to Fiction Writing, and Advanced Fiction Writing. This fall (2020), I will be teaching an advanced seminar at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, Va.) called “Extreme Behaviors: Depicting Violence in Fiction.” I have also offered courses such as “Travel Writing,” “The Art of the Third Person,” and “Honest Writing: Finding Your Voice” through continuing education programs.

I will read short stories and book manuscripts in any stage of production. Services offered include consultations, line editing, and written feedback. Contact me for rates.
